Glass (not Plexiglas):
Toothpicks (for extra fine details)
Rubbing Alcohol or Windex
- Liquid Leading
- Enamels are water-based and especially geared toward glass painting. They can handle the dishwasher if cured (not necessarily the microwave). Some require a primer and top coat.
- There are transparent (light will pass through), opaque (light will not pass through), and frosted paints.
Print out or draw your design on a piece of paper.
Tape the design to the opposite side of the glass.
Clean the area of glass that you will paint with rubbing alcohol (NOT Windex).
If using Liquid Leading paint or Redi-Lead strips for outlines, apply first.
Remove paint with nail polish remover if corrections are needed.
Allow the glass to dry for at least 24 hours (some paints take up to 3 weeks).
If the paint requires heating to set, follow the instructions on the bottle.
